Title: Making Our Efforts Count: Examining the Impact, Prevalence, and Barriers of Out-of-School Time Activities

Summary

Often in attempting to hire for engineering and science positions, there’s a lack of diversity in the applicant pool. To strengthen our organization, we must start “recruiting” earlier. A myriad of ways exist to get involved with STEM early-engagement programs. We’ll look at research on what works and where barriers exist in these opportunities, so that we can work towards an action plan for engaging effectively.

We plan on 25 minutes for presentation, 15 for breakout, and 15 for larger group discussion.
