This week, we are really excited to welcome Dr. Celene Ibrahim as our discussion leader. 

Dr. Celene Ibrahim specializes in Islamic studies and women's studies. Her most recent book, Women and Gender in the Qur'an, is forthcoming from Oxford University Press. She is also the editor of One Nation, Indivisible: Seeking Liberty and Justice from the Pulpit to the Streets (Wipf & Stock Publishers, 2019). Dr. Ibrahim holds a PhD in Arabic and Islamic civilizations from Brandeis University, a master’s degree from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. She is a frequent public speaker and consultant for educational and civic institutions, serves on the board of multiple institutions, and is the recipient of many academic awards and honors, including being named a Harvard Presidential Scholar. She currenly serves on the faculty of Groton School in the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy.

She will be speaking to us about Xenophobia, Anti-Muslim bias, and Sexism: Navigating Compound Marginalizations in the Academic Workspace.
