We will continue our EIJC Summer Sessions with a discussion of systems of oppression, social identities, and intersectionality.
To prepare, we ask that you please listen to Kimberlé Crenshaw, J.D., LL.M. - the academic who coined the term intersectionality - talk about the Urgency of Intersectionality. In addition, we suggest that you all go through the American Museum for African American History and Culture's Talking About Race: Social Identities and Systems of Oppression. The time commitment for these really depends on your pacing, but we trust that you all will authentically engage with this material.
